Linked Crochet Stitches (lcs)

Linked Crochet stitches create a strong dense fabric with minimal elasticity. They also give an interesting horizontal striping effect on one side of the fabric. The number of starting chains on your initial linked crochet stitch will determine the height of the round or row. As many chains as you can fit onto your hook can be used to make a wide range of stitch heights.

First linked crochet stitch of a round or row:

Chain the stated number of chains as indicated by the pattern, pull up a loop in the second chain from the hook, pull up a loop in each of the remaining chains, pull up a loop in the very first indicated stitch, [yarn over and pull through two loops] until all the loops have been worked.

Subsequent linked crochet stitches:

Pull up loops in each horizontal bar of the previous linked stitch, pull up a loop in the indicated stitch, [yarn over and pull through two loops] until all the loops have been worked.
