The crochet starting chain calculator will determine the number of starting chains you need to to achieve the desired width of your crochet project. The calculator will take into account the unit of measurement, stitch multiples, and turning chains.

1) Determine the width you require your knitting project to be.

2) Determine your gauge in the unit of measurement, either stitches per inch or stitches per cm.

3) Take into account what stitch pattern you will be using and what the patterns stich multiple (stitch repeat) is.

4) Input the number of turning chains required. Input zero if turning chains are not applicable (i.e. in the case of using foundation starting chains).
